DAY #8: CONVERSATION AT CHRISTMAS

I was reminded this week of one of my very favorite speech's, Jimmy Valvano's 1993 ESPY Speech. This is a MUST WATCH:

He reminds us that EVERYDAY we should:

1. Laugh
2. Think
3. Have our emotions move us to tears - cry

He discusses his battle with cancer and encourages all to:

1. Know where you started - shares a funny story of how he 'goofed up' his first locker room speech as a coach (Lombardi's speech)
2. Know where you are - encourages all to ENJOY your life and to have a dream and a goal!
3. Know where you are going to be - give to others with time on earth!

What better speech then to include the GREEN BAY PACKERS and an encouraging message!? As I continue to pray for a conversation at Christmas with Mom, I think about her perseverance and what a great message this is. Thank goodness her stroke will not take her from us, but I hope these words will encourage her in her fight for speech!

CONVERSATION AT CHRISTMAS: DAY #8 PRAYER:

Dear Lord,

God you are so mighty and we are so fortunate to serve You! Thank you for the beautiful reminder:

"...Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope." -Romans 5:3-4.

My request today is that Mom feels this promise in her heart and continues to persevere in here recovery as she seeks hope in You!

Amen.

Where have you seen God's grace in your life today?
